El Cid El Moro Beach Reviews

Pleasant hotel
My hubby and I visited El Cid El Moro in March 2015 as a timeshare visitor of our parents. We were met by a hotel rep at the airport. One time we showed up at the resort, the pressure to visit "their brunch" began. After saying no thank you on several occasions, it was announced by the representative, sorry I must do this, it's my job! We really loved the representative and agreed to visit for the free presents. They realized we weren't interested and sent us away pretty promptly. We had to go to the reception to get our presents and she really bombarded us. Really annoying! No is no! The resort was pleasant. We had a suite on the 19th floor corner unit that looked over the sea and we enjoyed watching the most wonderful twilight we have ever seen! The swimming pools were wonderful and so was the shore except for the regular merchants walking through attempting to sell their things. The same folks would return again and again. There is a roped off shore area but the hotel lets the merchants inside the roped area. It gets really bothersome however if you say no thank you, they often walk away (they just return again later). The cuisine at the cafeteria was average at the very most. The restaurant (la Concha) by the sea was tasty. Determined by what colour your wrist band is depends on if you're able to eat supper there or not. We ate brunch and dinner at la Concha daily. Wonderful scenery of the sea with the pleasant wind. The servers at the swimming pool are excellent if you tip well. We left the hotel one night at ate supper at fat fish about 5 buildings down the road. The are known for their ribs, shrimp and steak. We'd have never ate there if it was not suggested to us however happy we did since it was amazing! $15 for supper for 2. Business folks from the local business notice the wrist bands and insect you to visit a timeshare. One man even jumped out of a vehicle and approached us! We took a City shuttle to the Square for some shopping. 75 cents there (about 8 kilometers) and took a palomino (posh shuttle) en route back for $6. We just were not sure which shuttle to take back to the hotel. Lots of merchants, you can get most things for about 1/2 of their original beginning price. The cathedral is actually wonderful! I'd suggest El Cid El Moro however if we were to return, we would not do the all-inclusive as the meals/beverages are inexpensive there. They're remodeling the resort suites. When we were there they were on the 9th floor of 24 floors. The resort suites are spotless however older. The beds are Rock Hard!

Alaska to Mazatlan an excellent vacation
We just got back from 14 days at El Cid El morro in Mazatlan. It was just the greatest! Its like our 2nd home. The folks are what keep us coming back. They're so courteous, the staff attention is excellent, and view from my suite teriffic. The selection of restaurants is pleasant. Our favourite is the la Concha the environment, service and cuisine is awesome. The new cute la grouta is excellent, a Hidden Treasure. The personnel and servers are top tier, whether it be on shore, the swimming pool, or dining. Our accomodations were always spotless. The oceanfront is our Real high point, you can walk for kilometers its spotless and safe. Oh my gosh the water was so incredible warm, we were in it everyday. The hotel also has a water centre for all sorts of water facilities. Additionally there is their own Marina for fishing of a selection of species, or going boating. This hotel has something for everybody from age 1 to 91. Creating the pristine unwinding or Wild and wild holiday. This was our tenth year at El Cid and I'm already to make next years bookings!

Fun place to holiday
The scenes from the Tower were difficult to beat. We had Sun lounges on our deck, and we were happy we did since it was very challenging to get them by the swimming pool Due to folks reserving them evidently without honestly using them. I'd recommend resort rule changes for seat reserving. The oceanfront is pleasant, but, the resort seems to allow residents to continuously bother you with stuff you have no interest in purchasing. As a whole my family of 4 had an excellent week stay. The personnel was courteous and the amenities were continuously being tidied. We could use the amenities at all of the El Cid hotels, so the things to do right on the property were large.

El Moro-pleasant hotel
We spent 3 nights at El Cid El Moro in March. We had read a lot about the El Cid hotels so we thought we'd check the El Moro out for a few nights. The property is gigantic. Much larger than we are accustomed to so we a tiny overwhelmed at first. We felt the check-in person could've been a little bit friendlier. She was all business. Our suite was not ready so we had to wait a couple hours. We walked around a little bit and all the seats around the swimming pools and near the ocean we taken or were being saved. We at last lucked out and found two seats by the central swimming pool. The central swimming pool area was really busy with lots of folks. As we're shore folks we thought the area was a little loud for us. The swimming pool area is wonderful though, just not for us. We got to our suite in a short while and let me tell you that it was one of the most pleasant suites we have ever stayed in. We were on the 7th floor with a wonderful sea view. Our accomodations were one that was newly modernized and it could not have been any more pleasant. Noone could ever whine about one of these suites. I got up at 6:45 to get a couple seats near the ocean and all the tiki huts had all ready been saved. I did find seat that I put in the sunshine so no major issue for us as we seldomly sit in the shade. This May be an issue for some though however I have found it is more or less this same thing at most hotels. Seat saving is alright if you honestly use them however I think a lot of guests save seats at both the shore and the swimming pool and a lot of go unused majority of the day. We did find and share a tiki hut with another couple the following day though. There are a lot of merchants however they do not bother us at all. They're just trying to make a living. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants so I can not comment there. The hotel is somewhat too large for us more than likely however I'd come back if the cost was right. We're just used to smaller, less busy hotels. I do think that children and teenagers would really like this hotel though. We were quite impressed with the El Moro.

The greatest experience in over 15 years of visiting Mazatlan!
This is an excellent resort! Even though the reception staff are a little bit hostile and aloof, the rest of the personnel from the bellboy to the maid to the restaurant and bar (pool) personnel was amazing! The establishment as a whole is properly maintained and upkept. Cuisine is awesome. Our maid, erika, was amazing, responding to every request instantly. When at bar conchita by the swimming pool, captain rodolfo osuna and personnel will blow you away with service as will mesero ramon morales and his personnel. Mesero tomas o. Is one of the palopa waiters and is fabulous. And the bellboy, Juan carlos, is one of the most amazing I have experienced when it comes to service. Seek these folks out and tell them gualberto suggested them! You won't heartbreak El Cid! I'm a timeshare owner at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan and this hotel beats it without questions!

Mark and josue are the greatest!
I'm ashamed to say our stay was nearly the previoous year however we had the most fantastic servers at El Moro, mark lerma and josue romero who need to get kudos for their perseverance and marvelous attention and service to my hubby and I during our time. The meals were awesome, the climate was beautiful however mark and josue made our stay extra special. The day we arrived we were starving after our Long plane trip so we went for a mid-afternoon lunch, mark and josue were the first folks we met at the resort. They were so sociable and had such warm smiles, we were instantly calmed and loving our holiday. The following day they recalled us and they knew we enjoyed a table on the courtyard so they selected the pristine one for us. Throughout our 2 week stay we enjoyed a lot of meals with their help, and they always knew what we loved for drink and cuisine, and also making excellent suggestions for us. We were upset to leave after our 2 weeks and we wanted to have our last supper on the courtyard. Mark and josue knew we were leaving and informed us to leave the meal to them. They arranged the most fascinating evening from chowder to confectionary for us, chilled sparkling wine included. We'd like to return however so far have not had time to schedule a holiday at El Moro. We hope that mark and josue are still there, however if not we hope they have gotten the rewards they deserve for their perseverance and excellent service! Thank you so much mark and josue, we miss seeing you this year!

Seven days at El Cid
My hubby and I along with my brother and sister-in-law spent seven days at El Cid in March. We were met by andrea at the airport who accompanied us on the bus to the hotel. Throughout the Drive, she explained that we'd meet for brunch at 9:00 after which we'd be provided a trip of the Property. Just to ensure that we went to the brunch we had to pay $20 which would be came back to us after the trip and "presentation". The trip was an orientation for a timeshare. Really high pressure. I have to say that andrea was there for us any time we needed anything or had questions and it wasn't she who exerted the pressure tactics. The presentation took 3 hours the day of our arrival and another hour the 2nd day since my brother already has the timeshare and they wanted him to upgrade. My hubby was in a wheelchair Due to a defective ankle that had happened the week before we left for Mazatlan and as a result we were more or less confined to the El Cid El Moro and the close by El Cid Castilla shore. Majority of the wheelchair ramps were too steep or winding. Also a few lifts were too small to help the wheelchair. The grounds are certainly not wheelchair friendly. But, the workers were eager to help when they found me struggling to maneuver up or down a ramp and readily jumped in to help. We really liked the brunch and dinner at la Concha and the personnel from head server, Guillermo, to waiters and bar staff were marvelous. Special acknowledgement goes to Luis, Martin, and cesar in la Concha and Diego in la pergola. We had a tasty supper in El alcazar the night before we left for home, however due to the stairs up to the restaurant my hubby had to enter Via a ramp that took him through the kitchenette. The suites were spotless however stark and we'd have loved to have a simple seat instead of the couch beds which were not really pleasant for sitting. It is my compassionate that they're remodeling the suites.
